General description
This mission aims to boost the local development of Édéa by investing in its youth. It is structured around several areas: improving access to education and digital tools through the creation and modernization of libraries, providing spaces for youth guidance and training through youth centers, and strengthening their citizenship. At the same time, we want to enrich cultural offerings (festivals, multipurpose centers) and sports (rehabilitation of facilities, tournaments, academies) to encourage expression, social cohesion, and talent identification. Support for youth entrepreneurship and the promotion of volunteering complete this framework to make the young people of Édéa true drivers of development.
Impacts / Objectives
The mission aims to increase access to educational and cultural resources for the young people of Édéa, and to strengthen their employability and initiative. We anticipate a 30% increase in the use of modernized libraries, the creation of 2 youth centers providing guidance to 500 young people per year, and the organization of 4 cultural events and 6 sports tournaments annually. The goal is also to support 10 youth entrepreneurship projects per year and to involve 100 young people in civic actions, thereby strengthening social cohesion and youth engagement in the sustainable development of the city.
Contribution details
We are looking for members of the diaspora with expertise in educational and cultural project management, digital development, professional mentoring, sports and cultural activities, event management, or infrastructure development. Skills in entrepreneurship, civic training, and community mobilization are also highly valued. Contributions in the form of knowledge sharing, remote or on-site training, strategic advice, partnership development, or material support (books, sports equipment, IT equipment) are essential.
Mission conditions
A commitment to working closely with local stakeholders (NGOs, authorities, youth associations) and to adapting to the specific context of Édéa. A strong capacity to listen, transfer skills, and remain flexible is essential. Availability for occasional on-site interventions or regular remote follow-up is expected.
