"The Mayor wishes to strongly emphasize the eminently strategic role of the diaspora in the development of Cameroon and, more broadly, of the African continent. A true growth lever, it constitutes a pool of skills, know-how, and financial resources capable of driving a sustainable transformation of our territories. He recalls that the diaspora has a decisive role to play in the modernization of the city of Edéa, notably through the creation of investment funds geared toward promising sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, and local entrepreneurship. Through its structured engagement and its active contribution, it can participate in the emergence of a solid and inclusive economic fabric. The Mayor thus makes a solemn appeal to the Cameroonian diaspora: that of getting more involved, alongside local authorities, in a dynamic of co-construction of development, in order to make Edéa a model of prosperity and innovation."
Mayor of the City of Edéa
Located in the Littoral region, Edéa is establishing itself as a strategic hub of Cameroon. With an area of about 180 km², it has between 150,000 and 200,000 inhabitants. Crossed by the Sanaga, it is ideally positioned 60 km from Douala, 180 km from Yaoundé, and 110 km from Kribi. Its hydroelectric dam, its industries (notably aluminum), and its natural resources constitute major assets, making it a city with strong economic, agricultural, and tourism potential. Driven by a dynamic Mayor, a true man of the field, the city's development translates into concrete actions: completion of the new City Hall, paving of the Mbomé and Kaelin avenues, structuring of the cattle sector with the construction of a modern meat market, as well as the electrification of National Road No. 3 and several major intersections. So many initiatives that sustainably strengthen the modernity and attractiveness of Edéa.

This mission aims to boost the local development of Édéa by investing in its youth. It is structured around several areas: improving access to education and digital tools through the creation and modernization of libraries, providing spaces for youth guidance and training through youth centers, and strengthening their citizenship. At the same time, we want to enrich cultural offerings (festivals, multipurpose centers) and sports (rehabilitation of facilities, tournaments, academies) to encourage expression, social cohesion, and talent identification. Support for youth entrepreneurship and the promotion of volunteering complete this framework to make the young people of Édéa true drivers of development.

The Béon Integrated Health Center, located in the Édéa 1er District, is one of the main healthcare points in the area. Due to its strategic position, between National Roads No. 03 and No. 07, it receives a large flow of patients from various backgrounds. This high attendance puts pressure on the medical teams, who work in difficult conditions. The center faces a lack or obsolescence of medical equipment, which limits the quality of care and can endanger patients' lives. An urgent strengthening of the center's capacities is therefore necessary.

In a context where the city of Édéa is developing at a fairly rapid pace, it is essential to take safety measures to ensure better management of any fires that may occur. The city has a fire station; however, it is poorly equipped. Public buildings, market areas, and especially schools lack immediate firefighting measures to save human lives and property.

The Élog Mpo'o Festival is a major cultural event for the coastal peoples of Édéa and Sanaga-Maritime, dedicated to showcasing and preserving the rich Mpo'o heritage (traditions, dances, rites). It plays an essential role in the intergenerational transmission of knowledge, the strengthening of social cohesion, and local economic development through crafts and trade. Currently facing a lack of stable funding and underexploited tourism potential, the festival seeks to professionalize. This mission aims to support the structuring of its organization, secure sustainable funding, strengthen its promotion, and develop its tourism and cultural appeal, particularly among young people.
