This mission aims to support the rehabilitation and modernization of the infrastructure of priority public schools in Édéa and its surroundings. The efforts target old, overcrowded, and under-equipped institutions, including the primary schools in the city center, the schools in expanding outlying neighborhoods, and those in working-class areas. The specific needs concern the repair of classrooms, the rehabilitation and construction of latrines, the improvement of roofs, the acquisition of school furniture, the equipping of specialized rooms (science, IT) and libraries, as well as the expansion of certain institutions to reduce class overcrowding.
Impacts / Objectives
Improve the safety, hygiene, and comfort of students and educational staff in the short term. Reduce class overcrowding, modernize teaching tools, and create a more stimulating learning environment to improve the quality of teaching in the medium term. In the long term, reduce territorial inequalities in access to quality education and strengthen the capacities of schools in Édéa to accommodate a growing number of students in optimal conditions.
Contribution details
The diaspora is called upon for financial donations intended for the purchase of construction materials, school furniture, and educational equipment. Technical expertise in civil engineering, architecture, project management, or the development of educational spaces is also sought for the planning and supervision of the work. In-kind contributions (materials, books, computers) and mentoring for the setting up of libraries or computer rooms would also be greatly appreciated.
Mission conditions
Financial contributions will be managed transparently with regular monitoring of expenditure. Technical participation can be done remotely for design and coordination, with occasional on-site missions if necessary. Close collaboration with local educational authorities and parents' associations will be established to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the actions.
