General description
This mission aims to establish physical or virtual centers dedicated to preserving and promoting local culinary heritages. It involves organizing workshops, demonstrations, and intergenerational exchanges around traditional culinary practices. The diaspora is invited to share its expertise, recipes, and know-how to enrich the cultural offering and support local economic development. These centers will serve as learning platforms for young people and showcases for local products.
Impacts / Objectives
1. Preserve and pass on traditional culinary practices to younger generations and the general public. 2. Create at least 3 pilot centers within the next 2 years, reaching more than 500 participants annually. 3. Showcase local products and generate new economic opportunities for culinary artisans and producers. 4. Strengthen the cultural and identity ties between the diaspora and the communities of origin through regular exchanges and joint projects.
Contribution details
We are actively seeking members of the diaspora with expertise in traditional cuisine, culinary history, cultural project management, marketing, or fundraising. Contributions may include sharing ancestral recipes, facilitating workshops (remotely or on site), providing management skills for the creation and operation of the centers, and financial or material support (kitchen equipment, documentation).
Mission conditions
The mission requires solid partnerships with local associations, hospitality schools, and cultural authorities. An initial budget will be needed for fitting out the premises and acquiring specific equipment. A 3-year development plan is envisaged, with a 12-month pilot phase to validate the model of a first center. The diaspora's active participation is essential for the design, initial funding, and international dissemination of the initiatives.
