Mayor of the City
The city of Nkongsamba is located about 130 km from the city of Douala and 370 km from the capital, Yaoundé. It is the administrative headquarters of the Moungo Department, Littoral Region. In the 1970s it was ranked the third city of Cameroon. It is set on the western slopes of Mount Manengouba (2,396 m) and the foothills of Mount Nlonako (1,822 m) at an average altitude of 900 m above sea level. A cosmopolitan area, it is populated by about 200,000 souls whose main daily activities lie in administration, agriculture, trade, crafts, tourism, livestock farming, and culture. The populations come from the Mbo'o, Bamiléké, Hausa, Anglophone, Beti, Sawa, etc. ethnic groups. They coexist peacefully and belong to the classic religious denominations. The improvement of urban governance and the ongoing creation of an industrial zone in the village of Ndogmoa will make Nkongsamba a land of opportunity.
