Faced with strong population growth, climatic conditions, and insufficient infrastructure, the city of Maroua has significant priority needs in public health. This mission aims to transform the local health landscape by modernizing and equipping care facilities, strengthening the prevention of endemic diseases, and improving access to essential services. Key actions include:
* The rehabilitation and provision of specialized equipment (CT scanner, intensive care, advanced surgery) for the Maroua Regional Hospital and the District Medical Centers (CMA) in neighborhoods such as Pitoaré, Doualaré, or Domayo.
* Strengthening public maternity wards for safe deliveries and a reduction in maternal mortality.
* Intensifying vaccination and health awareness campaigns (malaria, hygiene) in working-class neighborhoods and schools.
* Strengthening emergency services and the acquisition of medically equipped ambulances.
* Improving access to drinking water and sanitation to combat waterborne diseases and unsanitary conditions.
