General description
The city of Kumba (Cameroon), a dynamic commercial hub, faces a largely informal and under-industrialized economy, limiting local value creation and job creation. This mission aims to mobilize investment, expertise, and diaspora networks to develop formal, high-impact businesses. The objective is to stimulate the processing of agricultural products (cocoa, palm oil, cassava), modernize commercial and logistical infrastructure, and address urban development, health, and education needs in Kumba by creating sustainable, job-generating SMEs.
Impacts / Objectives
Creation of at least 500 direct and indirect jobs over three years in key sectors. A 30% increase in local agricultural processing capacity. Improvement of storage and transport infrastructure, reducing post-harvest losses. Development of new real estate infrastructure (housing, shops) and essential services (vocational training centers, clinics). Formalization and structuring of a significant portion of the local economy, facilitating its integration into regional and international markets.
Contribution details
We are seeking members of the diaspora with a strong desire to invest and get involved. Profiles sought include: investors (private and institutional), experienced entrepreneurs, and experts in agribusiness, project management, finance, logistics, real estate development, renewable energy, health, and education. Expected contributions may include capital investment, the transfer of technical or managerial skills, mentorship, access to international networks, or direct project management.
Mission conditions
Long-term commitment (minimum 2 years preferred). Ability to collaborate with local stakeholders and adapt to the Cameroonian context. Transparency and adherence to ethical standards. Participation in project monitoring and evaluation processes. A site visit to Kumba is strongly recommended for investors and project managers.
