Lake Barombi has a strong tourism potential but remains underdeveloped due to poor access roads and lack of basic visitor infrastructure. This limits tourism, investment, and local economic benefits, making it necessary to improve accessibility and develop the site into a functional eco-tourism destination.

Access to safe and reliable drinking water remains a major challenge in several neighborhoods in Kumba, particularly in areas such as Alaska Street, Barombi, and Bonakama. The abscence of pipe-borne water infrastructure has also increased the burden on women and children, who often walk long distances in search of water. This situation negatively affects health, productivity, and overall quality of life in these communities.

The Kumba City Amusement Park is currently in a state of significant deterioration, with most of its play facilities such as the merry-go-rounds, and other recreational equipment, now dilapidated and unsafe for use. A comprehensive overhaul is therefore urgently needed to restore the park into a safe and mordern recreational hub.

In Kumba, South-West Region, numerous schools (primary and secondary, urban and rural) face critical challenges including aging and damaged infrastructure (roofs, classrooms), severe overcrowding (60-80 students/class), and a dire lack of essential facilities like desks, clean water, and adequate sanitation. The ongoing crisis and population pressure have exacerbated these issues, leading to poor learning conditions and health risks for students. This project aims to address these urgent needs by rehabilitating existing structures, constructing new classrooms, providing essential equipment, and improving water, sanitation, and digital access for a significant number of students across the affected areas.
