Bertoua, capital of the East region of Cameroon, is establishing itself as an emerging hub at the heart of a vast territory rich in natural resources. The city has about 400,000 to 500,000 inhabitants, with sustained demographic growth driven by urbanization. It plays a strategic role on the routes linking Cameroon to the Central African Republic and the Congo, facilitating sub-regional trade. The local economy is based on logging, agriculture, and significant mining potential (gold, iron, bauxite). Recent investments in road infrastructure, electrification, and urban development are strengthening its appeal. In addition, structuring projects in agro-industry and wood processing aim to create more added value locally.
