General description
The 'Kribi Project' is a civil society initiative aimed at reducing the risks of drowning and water-related accidents among the young people of Kribi. The program is built around impactful awareness campaigns, practical workshops on first-aid techniques and safe swimming, and the setting up of supervised water points during peak periods. Our approach is participatory, involving local communities to ensure the sustainability of the actions.
Impacts / Objectives
Significant reduction in water-related incidents among the young people of Kribi. Increase in the rate of young people trained in first aid. Development of a water-safety culture within families and schools. Creation of a network of trained and committed volunteers for water safety.
Contribution details
We are seeking experts in water safety, first aid, training, communication, project management, and people with experience in youth mentoring. The diaspora can contribute by sharing its technical expertise, providing financial support (donations, fundraising), participating in the design of educational materials, or relaying awareness messages within their networks.
Mission conditions
The mission requires on-the-ground commitment in Kribi for the practical workshops and local coordination. Remote contributions are possible for material design and organizational support. Good communication and an ability to work in a team are essential. Knowledge of the local culture is an asset.
