Strengthening Yaoundé's international influence: partnerships and cooperation between cities

Increase Yaoundé's international visibility, diversify and secure funding sources for urban projects, establish new fruitful decentralized cooperation partnerships, strengthen technical expertise and local governance through exchanges of experience, and attract investors for the city's development.

The diaspora is called upon for its role as a facilitator of international cooperation. This includes: identifying and connecting with potential partner cities for active twinning and concrete projects (mobility, energy, digital); access to international funding networks (development agencies, foundations); promoting Yaoundé's achievements and projects to foreign investors and institutions; mobilizing diaspora experts (urban planning, engineering, municipal management) for technical support to projects. The skills sought are therefore knowledge of international networks, negotiation ability, the capacity to put forward proposals, and expertise in the fields of urban development and cooperation.

The mission is based on the voluntary commitment of diaspora members, with flexibility in the modes of action (remote, occasional, or ongoing). A dedicated point of contact within the Yaoundé municipality will be appointed to coordinate the actions and facilitate exchanges. Regular communication and reporting will be essential.
