Strengthening the city's civil society

In Yaoundé, civil society operates in a context of strong urbanization, social inequalities, and demographic pressure. Local organizations work on essential issues such as access to basic services, economic integration, and community resilience. In precarious neighborhoods (Nsimeyong, Mvog-Ada, Briqueterie, Etoudi), the priorities concern drinking water, sanitation, and primary health care. Dense urban centers and markets (Mokolo, Mfoundi) face challenges of hygiene, security, and the organization of the informal sector. Peri-urban areas such as Mfou, Soa, or Mbankomo are engaged in sustainable agriculture and food security. Educational NGOs play a key role in training, integration, and the fight against school dropout. Women's associations support women's economic empowerment and social protection.
