General description
This program aims to identify, prevent, support, treat, and reintegrate people living with mental disorders in the city of Douala. In partnership with mental health centers, district hospitals, social services, community associations, and municipalities, the project encompasses: medical care, community prevention, family awareness actions, psychosocial support, mediation, social follow-up, socio-professional reintegration, and the creation of sheltered workshops. Social workers play an essential role in preventing relapses, combating stigmatization, and providing close support. The diaspora is called upon for its clinical, psychosocial, and public health expertise and to strengthen the capacities of local teams.

Reduction of marginalization; improvement of access to care; prevention of mental disorders; sustainable socio-economic reintegration.
Contribution details
Psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses specialized in mental health, social assistants, social workers, reintegration specialists, specialized educators, diaspora mental health NGOs.
