Supporting the city's cleanliness campaigns

In Douala, urban cleanliness has become a strategic priority in the face of a production of around 2,700 tonnes of waste per day. Waste management relies mainly on the work of the company Hysacam, in charge of collection and urban cleaning. The city has strengthened its infrastructure with collection trucks and a waste transfer center in Youpwè. A comprehensive strategy called 'Douala Clean City' aims to sustainably improve urban cleanliness. This strategy combines technical resources, citizen awareness, and community mobilization. Campaigns such as 'Clean Market' in Bonamoussadi mobilize traders, associations, and local authorities. World Cleanup Day regularly brings together volunteers in several of the city's neighborhoods. Public, private, and community stakeholders actively participate in these initiatives.
